Dexter Fire Department

Yesterday at church I was with Jack in the nursery for a few minutes. The woman who runs the church nursery used to watch Hunter and now Jack has really taken a liking to her. We usually chat for a few minutes when I bring him there. She offered once before and again yesterday to have us go to the fire station and get the "personal tour" by her husband who was working that day. We didn't have much going on after church so we took her up on it. We headed there after church and hew as just getting back from a medical call and backing the truck into the station. The kids had SO MUCH FUN!!! Thank you Fireman Lee (and Kathleen for offering up her husband's time!). The kids got to do tons of fun things and they were both cracking me up, Hunter especially with his questions and comments.

Of course the best part for both boys was spraying the hose, adjusting the spray (wide, far, etc). Hunter got to do it three different times. Finally we had to talk about wasting water to get him to stop asking again.

 Hunter in the driver's seat
 Jack in the backseat
Unhooking the flashlight to play with it.
Mr. Lee took out the jaws of life to show them to us and Hunter closed the door afterwards. This morning he was so cute and said, "Mommy, do you know the jaws of life can cut a car open?"
 Jack's turn with the hose
Mr Lee showing us how the hose works and explaining how strong you have to be when it's hooked up to a hydrant or truck (I think!?!)

We had so much fun and appreciate them letting us come so much!! It was funny b/c the sheriff's office is next door and they came to say hi and gave the kids badges too. Then he heard Hunter asking the firemen to turn the siren on and they said no b/c it's super loud. The sheriff walked out and turned it on in his car for us :)

Thanks Mr. Lee and Mrs. Kathleen!!!
