Playdate at the Petting Farm

Recently Hunter and I met my friend Hillary and her son, Jackson, at the petting farm. Jack stayed home with the neighbor since we went during his morning nap time. It was a beautiful day and actually a little chilly in the shade.

Hunter and I on the hayride. It was so fun to have some one on one time with Hunter!
This cow licked Hunter's hand and he thought it was so funny!

As my dad would say, "if you don't think this is funny, there is something wrong with you"

After Hunter poops on the potty this is what he does....and then says "mommy, please wipe my butt". The joys of having a two year old.

Hunter, I will apologize in advance for the fact that you will hate me when you are older for this, but when he did it, I almost peed my pants laughing...and then I had to lie and say "do it again, I need to wipe more" so I could get him to do it again so I could take a picture. I am a mean mean mommy.

Hands on Museum with Monica

This past Monday Monica took the kids to the Hands on Museum when the weather was not so nice. We have an annual pass, but usually use it more in the winter. Hunter loves it and they have a lot of really neat things to do. Monica always manages to get good pictures of the kids together and I just love it! I am so happy to come home and see pictures of all the fun they have together :)
They have an ambulance inside the museum that the kids can climb in and play.
I love this picture...it's one of the best of the two boys together--both smiling and looking at the camera. They sure look like they love each other!

Of course he found the puzzles This thing makes "tornadoes" or something....?
As you can tell, this baby is so happy 99.9% of the time.

God truly blessed us so much by giving us a perfect baby! It is so amazing and makes me want to have another one--haha. I am biased, but seriously, he is the best baby. I don't want him to grow up and would love for him to stay at this 9 month phase forever.

We need your help

For the last several months these have been appearing in our landscaping beds....we have no clue what it is. Do you know? Nick thinks it's some type of fungus from the new mulch we put in. It's strange b/c it literally appears overnight. I thought it was some type of animal puke or something, but after looking further, I'm not sure that's it. It's like a white foamy looking substance. If you know, please leave a comment telling us or email me! It is just gross to look at and then when it bakes in the sun for a few days it looks even worse.

There are several...this is not all the same one.

**UPDATE: After searching more online, it appears to be a fungus that can appear when your mulch is too thick--it happens when it's warm and lack or air circulation under the surface of the mulch...what is what one website said that I found.

Library and poop in potty presents!

Yes, we are giving Hunter presents when he poops in the potty! He was doing fabulous, but slightly regressed after our July vacation. We HAVE to get back on track before pre-school starts b/c he must be reliably potty trained to attend this particular school. This has been working pretty well and it's been over a week with no accidents. Thank goodness for the dollar store and $1 spot at Target otherwise his pooping could cost us a lot of money. I feel like we're turning a corner and I plan to keep it up until he's been in school for a couple of weeks with no accidents.

Monica took these pics after a recent poop in the potty!

He gets to pick a present out of a big box with about 10 presents in it.

Puzzles are his favorite and they had some good ones at Target for $1. At the downtown Ann Arbor library with Monica. They have a fun room with books, puzzles, etc.

He's used to tagging along :)
It will be nice when Hunter starts pre-school and Jack can get some one-on-one time with us!

Playing with daddy

Most evenings when we get home from work we eat dinner together around 6pm. After dinner we play, go for walks, take baths (sometimes), make smoothies, hang out on the deck, ride bikes, "have dates" (Hunters way of saying he wants to play in his playroom with us--he makes us food in his kitchen, etc),whatever...it's our quality family time together. I really enjoy this time playing with the kids and spending a few hours together before bedtime! If you've ever heard about the 5 love languages, my love language is quality time (and acts of service). Nick's is words of affirmation. If you've never heard of this, I would highly recommend checking out the link I attached b/c it's been really good to learn that about each other. Jack loves his daddy
Our happy guy
The kids were kind of matching today, but it wasn't really
planned...it just sort of worked out that way!

I love getting pictures of the two boys playing together.

They've had enough and didn't want to sit still long enough for me to take a picture

Lake with Hunt Family

Sunday we went out to the lake with Kyle, Sarah, Thomas, and Piper. Hunter loves to have playmates on the boat. The kids had a lot of fun on the boat and then racing in the yard.

Thomas had fun driving the boat, but wanted to do it all himself!

Piper and Kyle driving
Daddy and his boys. I must have had a little water on my lens b/c I had marks on several pictures :(
Racing in the yard after we got back from Zukeys. Hunter may have had a chance to keep up with Thomas, but he kept looking back at Piper.

Jack is so laid back...he just sat in the grass and played by himself and watched the kids running around

Meeting Baby Tyler at the lake!

Yesterday we went out to the lake to meet some friends. First we stopped at my aunt's house to see her new grandson. He is only two weeks old (Tyler Joseph). He's so cute and little...I seriously can't remember Hunter being that small, but he was!

Jack was a little confused when he'd hear Tyler cry or make noises.

My cousin Joe holding Jack. His sister Connie holding Tyler...and Hunter too!
Hunter holding baby Tyler...he did a great job!
Jack was very curious about the baby...he looks like he's giving him the finger in this picture :)

Before Joe had a baby I'd have to force him to hold Jack, but now he's getting used to all this baby stuff!

More pictures from the lake coming later :)
