We had a long and busy weekend! Friday we flew home from work, picked up kids, and went to meet our friends at their house for pizza before going to the Toledo Zoo. Hunter fell asleep in the car on the way and woke up in rare form. He was very wild at the zoo--too bad we couldn't put him in a cage with the other animals!!! He was so wound up. Then within five minutes of getting in the car both kids were sound asleep! We didn't get home until 10pm, which is WAY pastt their bedtime. Both barely woke up as we took them up to bed. Our friends kids are way more calm....it's just not fair!
Jackson and Hunter on the gorilla. Jackson is so sweet and quiet. I think he'd be better off hanging with Jack than Hunter.

Friday was the first night where they turn all the Christmas lights on...it was really pretty!! I have more pictures on my camera that I'll have to upload soon :) The cell phone pic does not do it justice.
Saturday was my great-grandma's funeral (my dad's grandma). It was a LONG day. I got to church for the visitation at 9:15 am and didn't go back home until 7 pm. I took Jack to the visitation. Nick came up to church with Hunter in time for mass. It was a nice service and for being 99 years old, there were a decent amount of people there considering she outlived three of her five kids, husband, and friends! After the service, Nick took my other grandma (mom's mom) home and Jack back to the house for nap. I took Hunter to the cemetery and then to my aunt's house. Hunter was so excited to release the dove. That was so nice of him to include Hunter! The little girl below also came back to my aunt's house so they played together. They had a great time and played well together--if they got separated Hunter would say "where is my girl friend?" and she would say "where is that boy?"....too funny.
Dove release. I guess it flies back to its farm in Belleville within 1.5 hours of being released.

Yesterday was my birthday...it was an OK day. However, Nick woke up SICK. I won't go into detail, but it's that nasty 24 hour bug where so much comes out that you can easily lose five pounds in one day (TMI). He didn't get out of bed all day. Lucky me. I took the kids to church by myself. Took them to the park by myself. Made them lunch by myself. Put Jack down for a nap by myself. Took Hunter to a bday party at Zap Zone by myself. Picked up Jack and went to my parents for dinner by myself. The kids were actually good all day until we went to my parents. I think Hunter was coming down from a sugar high from Zap Zone or something, but he was out of control. ALL I wanted for my birthday was to have two hours of peace. I wanted to read or watch tv (or nap) while Jack napped and have Nick take Hunter to the birthday party. That was it--- and no such luck. Then I texted him b/c I didn't want to get his germs and said, "Can I at least have my new shoes?" (I pick out my own presents in case you didn't know). He said they were in the backseat of his car, so I did get my presents from him and the kids. Not wrapped, but I have to do that myself too. The nice thing is that I get what I want. He makes no attempt to be creative. Not sure if that is good or not. I feel like I get way better stuff b/c he's willing to spend more if he doesn't have to think up something himself. I am very good at taking advantage of this too. (don't feel sorry, he asks for expensive things too).
I wish I had my camera b/c we got some fun pics at Parker Mills when we went for a walk after church!
This cool tree was fun to climb on and take pics.
Handsome little man!
The kids ran back and forth "racing" on this bridge at least 20 times...Hunter took his coat and hat off at one point b/c he was sweating! Then Jack would say "I need break" and they'd lay down on the bench and rest for 20 seconds and then off again to race.
Cutie pie!!
A small glimpse into them being nice to each other--sitting together, arms around each other, and smiling. Now that is an accomplishment....and Hunter didn't even try to push Jack off the tree! Success!
I LOVE THIS PICTURE!!
Hunter had so much fun at his friend's birthday party at Zap Zone. They played laser tag, bumper cars, games, etc. He was mad b/c the first game of laser tag he was with three girls and they lost. The next game he purposely sat by all boys so he would NOT be with girls...and they won!
Bumper cars was so funny b/c he was out to get people! He was so funny when you could see him getting ready to ram someone. He's competitive like that.
Jack wanted to wear his mask to "nana and pee-paws" so he wore it for 45 minutes in the car and refused to take it off. He had marks all over his face when we got to their house.
I got these shoes from Nick and purse from the kids. I picked both out. I LOVE both, but the shoes are uncomfortable...I hope once I wear them for a bit they will break in and be more comfortable. I guess for now style is more important than comfort.
My parents are always good to me! They got me clothes for pilates, undies from VS (my dad says he picks them out for me--creepy huh?), a crystal serving dish, and these stacking tables for my sunroom from Pottery Barn. I really like them!!! Thanks mom and dad!!! My grandma gave me money to go shopping and my sister paid extra for shipping to get my gift on time and it did not arrive. She feels badly, but it's ok. I know she won't forget about me :)
I am looking forward to my make up birthday--I was trying not to be mad at Nick, but I was SOOOOOO disappointed that I didn't get my two hours. (and I waited on him by picking up pop at the store, cutting up an apple and grapes, etc). Instead I was GO GO GO from 7am till 10:30 pm last night. I need to go to the grocery store and do laundry desperately b/c I was going to have Nick do that yesterday for me! Oh well, life is not that bad when it comes down to it. Just another year older!!
