Vacation Pictures--Part 3

We went to the Deer Lake beach several times. Hunter met these girls below and played with them two days in a row. He loved playing with them and they really enjoyed him. Before they left they all gave him hugs and kisses. It was great for us b/c they played with him for the longest time and we got to relax.

I think he'll love this picture when he's older!

They were all letting him pour water on their heads

They built lots of sand castles too

One of the girls Hunter played with at Deer Lake another day. He is not shy and loves to make friends with older kids (especially girls!)Playing in the sand with daddy

Jack had a blast splashing in the lake. He toppled forward twice landing face first in the water...he handled it like a champ though.

Soaking wet after playing in the lake

Mommy drying Jack off and cuddling...he's just SO cute and I love him so much!!

Gammy Dori and Jack hanging out at the beach

Hunter met some older boys and tried to play soccer with them.
Every morning Hunter would wake up and say, "I want to go to Deer Lake and play with those girls!" Even since we've been home he's been saying it!

Vacation Pictures Part 2

We went to Charlevoix twice while we were up north. The first time was to go to a bbq at the home of Jacquelyn's mom/dad. They have a really nice house and lots of property. We hung out, ate dinner, had a fire, and rolled down the hill :) Mark & Brandie (nick's brother and fiance) came with us too and of course Matt & Jacquelyn were there and some of Jacquelyn's family. Then on Wednesday we went back to downtown Charlevoix to eat lunch, go for a walk to the lighthouse, and get ice cream.
Getting ready to head to see Matt & Jacquelyn...This is the first time I've dressed them in matching outfits and I just love it!

I took several pictures, but they all looked like Hunter was choking Jack!

Matt with the boys. Matt is Hunter's godfather (and Nick's cousin)...he's going to make an amazing dad someday!! He is so good with our kids.

Hunter playing with Jacquelyn's nephew and niece. They were showing him how to roll down the hill.

Mark & Brandie...they are getting married next summer--yay!
Wednesday trip to Charlevoix...watching the drawbridge go up for the boats to pass

Gammy Dori pushing Hunter in the stroller...I LOVE this double stroller...it's the best!
Hunter eating superman ice cream...he loved it.
Daddy is the master at getting Jack to fall asleep.
My highlight from Wednesday was this cute old couple we met. We were walking along the boardwalk area and this man stopped us. He was holding hands with his wife and they must have been in their late 80's. She had Parkinson's and was shaking quite a bit. As we were walking past them he asked us if we could stop for a minute so he could look at our kids. He said they were just so cute and they just wanted to look at them. Of course we stopped and talked to them for a few minutes. Hunter said hi and told them his brother's name and that he was 2. It was so cute and just makes me smile thinking about how happy they were to just see little kids/baby for a minute. I hope Nick and I are that cute when we are that age!

More pictures to come....I figure I have at least 4 more posts of pictures--haha.

Vacation Pictures--Part 1

We went up to Boyne Mountain for the 4th of July week. We stayed at my in-laws time share condo. The car ride up there was horrible--We had to stop every hour to give the kids a break. We were right next door to Avalanche Bay, which is a HUGE indoor water park. We got a 5 day pass there and it was a great thing--we could just take Hunter for an hour while Jack was sleeping and it worked out really well. All in all we had fun, but were ready to come home. Jack was lacking sleep--he'd sleep through the night, but naps were tough and he was just plain exhausted. Hunter rarely napped and Nick had to sleep in a room with him and me in a room with Jack. I can't wait until they are older and can sleep in big beds and do their own thing. We spent our time at the water park, pool, Deer Lake beach, etc. I have tons of pictures (I took over 400) and so I'll have lots of posts this week about our trip! On a funny note, Hunter was practically famous in our little condo area. He said hi to everyone and I'd be out walking with him and someone would say "hi hunter" and I'd have no clue who they were and they'd say, "oh, he was at the playground yesterday with your husband" or whatever...he made friends everywhere he went, which is a good sign--he should do well in pre-school come this fall! He is NOT shy.

Here are some pictures from the 4th of July....

I was so mad that I forgot their matching 4th of July tee-shirts at home, but oh well. I had other matching shirts that they wore. We went to a parade the morning of the 4th...it was SO hot!

Baby Jack and daddy at the parade

It was so hot so Jack and daddy found a spot in the shade. Jack made another friend who was about 3 weeks younger than him :)

In the evening we went out to dinner and for a walk along the water in Boyne City. We listened to some music, went to the playground, and got ice cream.

Hunter was having fun talking to these boys. It looks like they were good sports about it!

After we put Jack to bed we let Hunter play with sparkelers for a little bit...I was paranoid and didn't really like him playing with them by himself. Maybe next year.

We also got him some of those snapper things...he had a blast throwing them and hearing them "pop"

MIA

Well, I have been MIA for over a week b/c we were up north. I thought I would blog about our trip from up there, but there was just no time. We came home a little early b/c my grandma (Hidi) passed away on July 3rd. The funeral was today...more on that later. Well, hope to get some pictures up soon...we had a good time, but it was exhausting! Hunter didn't nap and didn't sleep well, so we are all happy to be home and sleeping in our own beds. Nick and I are off tomorrow as we were supposed to still be up north. We are looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Nick and I hardly spent any time alone together, so we are just waiting for 8pm so we can hang out tonight for a few hours when the kids go to bed :)

Pictures by Dayna Mae Photography

Several weeks ago we went to have professional pictures done by Dayna Mae Photography. I would highly recommend her if you need pictures done. She's so sweet and creative and has reasonable prices. Also, she gives you the pictures on a cd. A lot of other places make you order the pictures from them at super high prices. I always think they will be bad b/c Hunter is not cooperative and I'm always pleasantly surprised at how amazing they turn out! This time we brought my parents along so we could get some pictures of them with the kids. I have over 160 pics, but here are a few of my favorites :)

He looks confused!
