Super long catch up post

I am so disappointed in my lack of blogging lately. I have been so busy and my blog is not the only thing getting neglected. I'm trying to get better starting now! Here are a bunch of pictures that are just random and were on my phone :)

Nana got Hunter this puzzle--it's a 150 piece puzzle of the USA and part of Canada. It's pretty hard, but of course after one day he had it mastered. When I asked him what he wanted for Christmas this year he said, "I just want a 1,000 piece puzzle and a new toothbrush"...totally random. I did get him a 200 piece floor puzzle and I know he'll love it--I think he will be ready for 1,000 in a few years, but not quite yet--we'll work our way up to it! Our nightly ritual...apples before bed and usually watching a little bit of tv before going up to bed. I love seeing them hanging out next to each other and being nice.

Every time Jack is done eating and he sees me coming toward him with the washcloth to clean his face...trying to avoid getting wiped clean!

Jack loves to sit in the time out chair just for fun...and I love this Halloween shirt--you can't see it, but at the bottom it says "Surrender yer candy!"

Daddy's Tiny Terror---and that's a fact. My parents got Jack all these foam blocks for his birthday. I was complaining b/c there are so many, so they took the kids to Home Depot last weekend when they babysat and bought this huge bin to put them in. The kids now love the bin more than the blocks :)

They get in together and want me to bury them in blocks.

I love seeing them play together, even though I can't go far b/c they still can't be trusted in terms of being kind to one another just yet. We are working on it.

Jack got this outfit for his birthday and I LOVE it. He is also wearing my shoes with it, which makes him extra cute!

My two superheros! They love to put on their capes and run around the house together.
Nick will be embarrassed about this, but I couldn't resist.

Such a happy little guy :)

Love that smile!

I was doing dishes and turned my back for one second--and this is where he was. Hunter never did stuff like this, but Jack is much more of a climber.

He also discovered he can climb up on this box to flip the light switch. It brings a lot of entertainment. On and off and on and off.....
He's so proud of himself.

Simple things like a laundry basket can also bring so much happiness--no need for toys when they prefer stuff like this I guess.

Hunter goes to soccer on Saturday mornings. He did not like his coach this semester, so I'm glad it's over with. Not many people liked him...I guess he was just very boring (I don't take him, so I don't know). Anyway, he has a friend, Landon, and they met and soccer and we sign up with them. Last Saturday he started his new session with Coach Rachel and I guess she is much better. I'm actually taking him this Saturday for the first time in a long time, so I'm kind of looking forward to seeing how he's doing! We are thinking about doing this parent/child basketball thing they have at the same place. It's once a week on a weeknight, so Nick thought it would be fun and something to do to get out and get some exercise when it's winter and gets dark so early.

Hunter is in the front, second from the right...with his head down. I guess that tells you how much he did not like this class!

Hunter, Nick, Mason and Chris went bowling on Sunday night. Jack has been teething and waking up so early, so we stayed home and hung out. From the sounds of it, I'm glad I did...Nick said Hunter and Mason were wild (I'm sure Hunter was the main culprit). I really enjoyed some quiet time with Jack Sunday evening. It was SO quiet...I almost didn't know what to do with myself. I just try to give Jack my undivided attention b/c I don't get to be alone with him that much. We had fun though! Hunter scored a 70---I was impressed although I'm sure it's probably not that hard when you have bumpers!

Well, I have a funny story coming soon...and still need to post pics from Jack's little birthday get together soon :)

This is what we are doing right now

4:00pm on Saturday...kids just woke up from naps (well Jack)...Hunter just drove us nuts for two hours during "quiet time" and watching a little Michigan football. My parents are coming over in an hour and we are going on a date. Can't wait to get out and go to dinner and a movie--and a free babysitter is the best!

Looking concerned?

Go Blue!!

This was a little earlier today--so cute!!

Jack got this outfit for his birthday. I liked it when we opened it, but I love it a million times more on him--I love how the Michigan goes down the leg especially.

Hope you are having a good weekend :)

Happy 2nd Birthday Jack

Today at 9:30am Jack officially turned 2 years old. He woke up bright and early at 5:45am (not cool!!) He must have been eager to start the day! Hunter slept until 7:30 am, so on the bright side, Jack and I got to spend some time alone together before the tornado appeared. We had yogurt and strawberries for breakfast. I think he would eat 50 strawberries if I let him. Julie took him to the mall to play for a little bit and then met Connie and I for lunch. I appreciate Julie bringing him to meet us and I treated everyone to lunch :) Jack sat between Connie and I, but when the food came I tried to put him in his high chair...wasn't gonna happen. He was way happier goofing around in between us. I was just happy to get to see him (thanks Julie)!

Tonight when I get home from work my parents, Gigi and Aunt Emily are coming over to see Jack and help me with the kids. Nick has a seminar thing that he's speaking at tonight. Men are just not smart at times. He asked me months ago if he could do the seminar on November 9th and I politely reminded him that it was our son's birthday...somehow he booked it anyway. I was not happy, but I'm over it now and I hope he feels guilty enough on his own without me making it worse. I know Jack doesn't know the difference, but it just makes me sad that we won't be together. Hopefully he has learned a lesson and won't do it when the kids are old enough to know daddy is not around. He's going to come home for an hour to see the kids in between work and the seminar, so that will be nice. Overall he's a great daddy to both kids, so I'm trying to make the best of it.

Anyway, here are a few pictures of Jack and how much he's changed in the last two years--time flies!

Just a couple of days old...just got home from the hospital :)

Jack when he turned 1. This is one of my favorite pictures of him!

This morning sitting in his high chair...so sweet and innocent (most of the time).

Jack and I at lunch with Connie/Julie. He's lucky to have us three girls there giving him all the attention! Gosh, it's so much easier going out with just one child!!

Jack had fun playing with Connie. He kept trying to squeeze in behind her and was being silly :)

I will post tomorrow about all that he's been up to...plus he has his two year check-up and I'll have his stats. I guess this week my blog will be mostly dedicated to my little sweetie pie.

My baby is growing up

I seriously can't believe Jack is going to be two tomorrow. It is making me sad just thinking about it. We had a small get together at our house on Sunday (pretty much all family)...more pictures to come soon! He got some really fun gifts and we have been having so much fun playing with new toys. Isn't he the sweetest thing?? Of course I'm slightly biased.

I hope to post tomorrow on all that he is (and isn't doing).

October 31st Trick-or-Treating

Monday night we went to Burns Park to go trick-or-treating. In our neighborhood the houses are too far apart for our little kids to walk...and I can't carry them from house to house. We met up with Mike, Jacque, and Michael (who is a few weeks older than Jack). They have a friend who lives in Burns Park sub and said it's a great place to go trick-or-treating. I was shocked! They said they get up to 700 kids!!! OMG--talk about having to buy a lot of candy!! It's a nice subdivision, so I guess they can afford it--haha. They sure go all out. The street was closed, the people passing out candy were dressed up, they had parties, and houses were decorated to the max. It was quite a scene to say the least. Both kids were in a funny mood--kind of crabby and just not acting themselves. We had fun though :) Surprisingly they haven't even asked to eat any of their candy! Jack and I...I carried him to a lot of houses b/c I think he was tired. This one house had HUGE pumpkins--they must have weighed hundreds of pounds! We attempted to get a pictures of the three boys with it, but they were all too wild to stand still.

Attempt #2. I have to thank Jacque for taking all the pictures. With both kids, the wagon, and the crowds it was impossible for Nick to try to take pictures. I am so thankful she took a bunch of good pictures for us. I'm usually wanting to take lots of pictures, but it was just too much to handle. They are having their second boy in less than two weeks and then it will be really crazy with all four boys hanging out together! We are super excited for them :)

Jacque and Michael. I seriously wish I could look just half this good when I am 38 weeks pregnant!

Taking the kids up to their first house of the night :) Hunter was good at saying "trick-or-treat" and "thank you". At one house he was crabby and would not say thank you, so I made him give the candy back! I had to teach him a lesson.

Hunter was happy in the wagon--I'm so surprised he didn't want to go up to a ton of houses.

Elmo was a hit!

Ok, Jack was acting so weird. He just wanted to sprawl out in people's yards. I have no idea what was going through his mind, but it was so funny. He would just lie down and hang out...the funniest part when when these girls walked by and said "There's a dead Elmo!!" Michael probably thought Jack was a weirdo!
Once again, he just decided to lie down in the middle of the sidewalk. Seriously, he's goofy!
Michael was honking Elmo's nose before we headed home :)
As you can see even the people passing out candy were getting into the festivities...
These people had friends over and were all drinking wine on the front porch passing out candy. It's quite a show if you are getting 700 kids!
The houses were really decorated well...it was so cool.
