Motorcycle and naked boy in high heels

Apparently there is this "National Night Out" thing and many communities plan events. Target (my favorite store) sponsored an event in Canton and I guess they printed the wrong date in the paper, so we went and it was not crowded at all. They had fire trucks, police cars, motorcycles, tons of free food, inflatables, etc at this nice park. Hunter had tons of fun and we had a yummy free dinner last week! You know I am always on the look-out for fun things to do with the kids and when it's free that's even better.

Hunter had lots of fun checking out all these things...it's so cute how happy a two year old boy gets when he sees police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances.
This picture cracks me up. First, Hunter had accidentally gotten a little pee on his undies while he was going potty in our bathroom while I was getting dressed for work. That is why he has no pants on. Then he was pulling out my shoes and walking around in them. I never wear these b/c of my bad back so I let him bring them downstairs to play with. I have some other funny pictures, but not appropriate for the public eye. Our nanny showed up while I was taking his picture and must have thought we were really weird!

Getting ready for pre-school

I can't believe my baby will go to pre-school in a few weeks...he starts on September 7th. I ordered him this book bag from Pottery Barn. It was a total ripoff, but I couldn't resist b/c I thought it was so cute and wanted his name on it.

He was so proud wearing it around the house...we even put a few books in it for practice :)

Then he didn't want to take it off, so we golfed while wearing it!

And the next day, he played the piano while wearing it...
...and ran and played more golf!

Annivesary Weekend in South Haven

Nick and I went to a bed & breakfast in South Haven for our 6th anniversary. My parents watched the kids. I was so tired...I slept in the car on the way there and on the way back. We napped Friday and Saturday afternoon. We went to bed early. We ate some nice meals (with no yelling kids). We went shopping, took walks, read, watched movies, slept, got massages, took pictures of random stuff, and spent some quality time together. It was so nice! And Hunter cried when he woke up Sunday from his nap to find us at home and his Nana gone :(
The old house b & b
Our room...we had a nice deck too, but there were lots of bees out there.

They had these two ducks (can't recall what kind of ducks). They were friendly and wandered around the property in front of us while we ate breakfast on the porch each morning. The were our entertainment.

The property was really nice... Being silly...

I love this picture!

It was the annual Blueberry Fesital in South Haven, so it was a busy weekend. I was happy b/c they had lots of sidewalk sales. Nick was happy b/c they had a beer tent.

Couch Jumping

Hunter has been having a lot of fun jumping from the foot rest part of the couch onto the couch. He'll do it and say "Take my picture!!", so we had fun the other day taking his picture while he jumped over and over and over....
Scroll down to see the progression of the action...

In the air!
On the way down...
Boom...head into the couch. Hunter finds this hysterical.
My wild child
Practicing his headstands too
One last "in the air" picture :)

Splash Pad and the lake

These are pictures from August 7 & 8th...I'm a little behind! I will have pictures from our anniversary weekend tomorrow or the next day. We had a great time, but I missed the kids and was happy to come sleep in my own bed as the mattress at the b&b was horrible and my back was sore!

Aunt Em & Hunter driving the pontoon boat to Zukeys

Daddy & Jack on the boat

We recently found out about this Splash Pad at Heritage Park in Canton, so we took Hunter there on Saturday (8th) to play for a bit before going out to dinner. He had a pretty good time.
This was an interesting experience for me. Hunter was playing with this and these two older boys came and tried to push him away. I tried to step back and let them work it out. Turns out the one boy on the left ended up biting the boy on the right and he ran to his mom crying. He also pushed Hunter. When the mom of the mean boy came down to see what had happened I told her he bit the one kid and pushed my son. She removed him from the park. It was hard for me to sit back, but at the same time Hunter has to work a few things out and this was a good opportunity while I was nearby. Part of the problem is that Hunter is only 2 and people think he's 4 b/c he's so tall. I just hope to raise Hunter to be nice, sharing, and kind to other kids!

He did have fun spraying back and forth once the mean kids were out of the way!

So much has changed in the last 6 years

Nick and I will be married 6 years on August 14th. We've been together over 10 years...it's crazy to think that we've been together over 1/3 of our lives. He is such a wonderful dad and husband, and not to mention, very handsome. Just ask him and he'll tell you! When he is annoying me, I try to think about all the other "dad's" our age that I know and I realize I've got it good in comparison. He cooks. He helps around the house. He has exempted me from ever going to the grocery store again b/c he knows I HATE it (and he takes Hunter with him). He's funny...or at least tries to be. He always rubs my back and feet when I ask, even though I will never rub his feet (if you've seen them you wouldn't either and feet just gross me out). He doesn't get mad at me when I spend money at Target (although last night he actually commented on it while he was unloading bags and diapers from my trunk). Of course he has his flaws, but since it's our anniversary post and I'm being nice, I will not point them out.

I think back to when we got married...no kids, no dog, and life was so different. I can't even remember what we did with our time before we had kids. We talked about it and I think we relaxed, worked, had fun, and drank a lot of wine! Life has changed in a good way of course, but it seems like we are going through a stressful time with two kids under the age of 3.

This weekend we are going to South Haven for the weekend. My mom/dad got us a weekend and a Bed & Breakfast and we are counting the hours till we leave. They are also watching the kids...THANK YOU MOM & DAD. We are leaving Friday morning. I scheduled a 90 minute massage each at a spa in South Haven for Friday after lunch b/c we can't check in till 3pm, so why not get a massage to kill some time? haha. We are not buying each other gifts, but the massage and some nice dinners are going to be our "gifts" to each other.

I thought I'd put some pictures below of us...back when we were young and so in love!! haha.

I love you honey and thanks for being such an awesome husband!
